Singing eBooks
I have been interested in children’s books since… well since I was a child I guess! I have especially loved books or stories that had some kind of musical element, like Peter and the Wolf, or Puff the Magic Dragon. Only problem with traditional books that had music was that they always seemed to get separated from the CDs, and then the CDs would get Play-Doh on them or get put in the microwave and then gum up the CD player. Big problem. One of the nice things about children’s books in the digital age is that now the books and the music can be seamlessly integrated in a nifty little app that plays on most mobile devices (iPhone, iPad, Android).
I have been working with a company called MeeGenius to turn some of my kid’s songs and stories into illustrated, word-highlighting, sing-along eBooks. A little like karaoke, a lot of fun!! Check them out here:
Messy Messy Messy is a zippy ditty about a hygienically challenged bear.
Jungle Orchestra features the sounds of different instruments of the orchestra. In the story the instruments are all played by different jungle animals.
Beethoven’s Monster features a mischievous monster with a sweet tooth who stomps around, climbs trees, and tries to steal honey from reluctant bees, all to the sounds of Beethoven’s Piano Sonata #30.
The 12 Days of Christmas at The North Pole is an adaptation of the traditional Christmas carol that includes the sounds of animals that one might encounter if one were to go to the Arctic. This was the first Singing eBook I made at around Christmas time in 2010.

Heigh Ho St. Patrick’s Day is another seasonal singing book about the man himself. All info contained is true, to the best of my knowledge.
